Imagine This!
Visit Concept Dental in the morning, and have mini implants placed in less than 2 hours. That afternoon, eating a light, comfortable meal; having a pleasant conversation; laughing and speaking with confidence. Your denture feels secure and is being held firmly in place. All of this is possible when you receive mini dental implants in Lynnwood, Washington.

What is a Mini Dental Implant (MDI) Stabilization System?

The MDI system consists of a miniature titanium alloy implant that acts like the root of your tooth and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base of your denture. The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture acts like a socket with a rubber O-ring. The O-ring snaps over the ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture firmly in place. When seated, the denture gently rests on the gum tissue. Implant fixtures allow for micro-mobility while withstanding natural lifting forces.

How Do MDIs Broaden My Options?

Dental implant therapy has been one of the most significant advancements in dentistry for the past 25 years. Hundreds of thousands of grateful denture patients have experienced the immediate improvement in their quality of life and confidence that long-term denture stability brings. Several different types of implants and restorations are available. The choice depends upon the amount of bone available and the patient’s general health and restoration preference. Your implant team of dentist Dr. Taylor Berry and denturist Dr. Szilard Zombor can discuss options that will work best for your situation.

These MDIs have a minimally invasive surgical placement protocol and allow our dentists to broaden the spectrum of patients we can treat with implants. These small diameter implants are approximately 2mm in diameter. The MDI Denture Stabilization System was developed to provide denture patients greater denture stability and offer an implant option for patients who cannot withstand the rigors of conventional implant surgery, or do not have enough bone to allow for full-sized implants to be placed. These implants typically have a lower cost than traditional implants.

How Are MDIs Placed?

Placement of these “small wonders” at Concept Dental is performed by our dentists. Our advanced surgical implant placement training allows us to place these implants quickly and easily, often with just local anesthesia! We use a precise, controlled, minimally invasive surgical protocol to place the MDIs in the patient’s jawbone. The heads of the implants protrude from the gum tissue and provide a strong, solid foundation for securing your dentures. Since the surgical procedures for placement of the MDIs are minimally invasive, healing periods are reduced.

How Are My Dentures Stabilized?

At this point in the MDI stabilization system, Concept Dental‘s denturist, Szilard Zombor, will fit your dentures with the metal housings that hold the rubber ” O ” ring that acts as a retainer and mini shock absorber. These “keepers’ will provide a secure, firm hold for your dentures onto the implant “O” ball heads. This fixture will hold your dentures securely when chewing, speaking, and biting. No more messy adhesives, liners, or sloppy dentures!
